switching up the style--- street style!

Not that many people (at all) are reading this, but I'm going to be changing around the style of my blog and of myself.
I'll start uploading pictures of my outfits and I hope that I'll see a progression in what I choose to wear.
Right now, I choose the most comfortable thing I can find... mostly because I spend about every day at a high school. Which sucks.
But I really want to make myself actually wear what I think is attractive for me.
there ARE a few steps to that, though
1) get a job- the most stylish items- to me - are usually out of my price range
2) Thrift more often!!! I love thrift shops but I can never decide if what I want to get is a good investment. I won't follow my good instincts anymore. Im buying EVERYTHING!!!
3)every other day (or at least every other day) I'll upload a favorite outfit.
4) I want to explore street style and let everyone know how AWESOME it is.
5) I need more heels. I've never had the courage to buy the statement heels that I love for fear of looking like a poser; I look really really young. most people think I'm 13. I'm 15. Heels on a 13 year old are kind- of presumptuous.
NEEDLESS to say,
I need to kick my fashion courage up a notch! - - - - or two!
another goal I'm going to work towards is trying as hard as I can to get more followers.
Writing a blog for a total of four people as an audience isn't quite motivational.
but I promise you'll see a change!!!
until next time... this is going to be the best new fashion blog out there.

Fashion Freak

I know I haven't written on my blog in a while, I've just been really busy and now I have mono... great. But, I'll try to write more, so don't worry, mom.
Well, I'm a fashion freak.
More like a clothes freak.
I don't really follow the latest runway shows or anything like that but almost every day when I come home I go online and look at clothes on so many different websites it's hard to keep track of the impossibly long sticky note on my computer.
I was just thinking about how when I was in 8th grade I remember being obsessed with the splatter paint trend, and then I was obsessed with plaid, and then once I got into high school I became obsessed with a more broad subject. Last year I was completely obsessed with crop tops. I would cut shirts until they were so short it really was not attractive... and then at the beginning of this year I was obsessed with sweaters, so it's safe to say I have a hefty load of sweaters in my closet and now I am completely infatuated with shoes. I want every pair of shoes I see. Period. The only problem is that I really can't afford the ones I like the most :( but I make it work, and I'm planning on spending the entirety of my allowance on shoes.
I just got my new seventeen magazine (yayy!) and I was looking at their shoe trends: wedges, stilettos, flats, and high tops were the ones that stood out the most to me. The "flats" trend has changed. Now it's more like menswear and topsiders. I really like it.
My shoe idols are :
-Steve Madden (LOVE)
-Aldo
-Michael Kors
-Nine West
-Betsey Johnson
And many more but I won't rant on too much.
I also really like some of Urban Outfitters' shoes, and they're priced pretty reasonably.
Same goes for Forever 21.
I just went on a huge shoe hunt. I can't decide which to buy! These are basically my style:

I'm starting to search for summer clothes because that's my favorite time to dress. :) I'm predicting a very hippie-esque summer. I'm planning on sewing a long black skirt and I'm trying to find as many toe ring sandals that I can. Needless to say, I'm insanely excited to wear it all!!!

today I was thinking a lot about a certain style of mine; I have a lot of different styles; and I want to share what goes through my mind when I plan an outfit out
First of all, I never usually express my true style during school because: I wake up with only half an hour to get ready and it takes me quite a while to figure out an outfit, and I feel that you shouldn't feel obligated to dress your best for school because if you think about it, school is a place where we go to be contained in a room for an hour four times a day for seven hours a day. If I had a choice, I wouldn't be in school at all right now, but I need high school credit to go to a nice college, which I am planning on doing.

BY THE WAY--- Dior firing John Galliano??? I mean, he did say some bad things but that IS a little bit harsh. I'm shocked, and now they've lost their best designer...

most of the clothes I fantasize about owning are far out of my spending range, unfortunately, as it is with most teenagers. However, I do thrift some things and I am in the process of learning how to alter clothes I find that don't fit! So, in the long run, it eventually works out pretty well. (Thrifting is a really good alternative)

*Maxi skirts are in for this summer and sprig, so stock up! I'm planning on making one for myself - it's very easy and waaaay cheaper. (free people)
This suede skirt caught my eye - it's delicate but edgy. (free people)

I was looking on Urban Outfitter's website today and I was thinking about how much I wish I could afford all their clothes.. but, what kind of teenager is going to want to buy a shirt for 50 dollars with their own money?
It's obvious that they target teenage customers but everything is so expensive! The only people  I know who own Urban Outfitters clothes either get a very hefty allowance or their parents are trying to buy their affection. I've bought things from there before - only on sale - and I have to say that as much as I love their clothes and the overall style is much like mine, I don't have any intentions of shopping there from now on. It's just frustrating.

Down below  : Jewelry from Madeherthink
                           Dresses from Pixie Market

I love those two dresses so much. they're so vibrant and the yellow dress is a really nice combo of floral and chiffon... The jewelry from Maderherthink is also amazing... all their accessories are.

"fashion fades, only style remains the same" -Coco Chanel

zest.. I've been hearing this word a lot lately especially coming up when I read about fashion. I think that the word "zest" is a really really good word. You could base so many things off of this word. When I think of things that remind me of zest I obviously think things like oranges, limes, lemons, tangerines, etc. But if you think about the word zest in relation to style and design there are so many possibilities.

For example, during NY fashion week I thought that Zac Posen's collection was especially ZESTYY.

See how zesty it is? The colors pop and every outfit is entertaining to look at. Even their eye makeup was zesty... when I look at the colors I think of mangoes and tropical flavored jelly beans.
