new blog, new month...

Well, February ends today so I'm thinking that starting my fashion blog is a good start to a typically good month!
Since the Academy Awards were on last night and there were many interesting outfits - in a good way and a bad way - I think I'll kick off the blog with a little discussion about the best and the worst dressed and who is awarded my seal of approval: ----------->

But, before I do that I want to introduce myself and what I want to base my blog on. Obviously, the main theme here is fashion... but it's also much more than that. I want to let everyone (or anyone who's reading this) know that I get completely pulled into the allure of fashion. I want to be involved in the fashion industry as soon as I can and I think that a good way to start is through a fashion blog. I've heard about a lot of people who have been introduced into the "real" world of fashion - like NY fashion week, shows, etc. - especially the 13 year old girl Tavi Gevinson.
I plan on sharing with everyone my opinions on fashion, my fashion style, which clothes I would love to fill endless rooms with, and anything else about fashion that may enter my mind. I'm new to this (obviously) so I'm not totally sure what to write about or how to write it, but I'm sure I'll pick up on it in time and follow my instincts on what to write about.
Some things to know about me:

1) I LOVE Banksy
2) my style is mostly classic, but with a twist. I think I have my own type of style and I really like to express it.
3) I'm 15 years old (15 and a half!)
4) My dream job is to work as a fashion designer or work for a high fashion magazine.

SO the Academy Awards: unfortunately my cable shut off RIGHT as it started, but I dug around and watched what I could of it on youtube.
There were a lot of really nice ones and a lot of surprising ones.

Mila Kunis' dress was really really nice. It was definitely one of my favorites. Mostly because of the edgy but elegant look; and the lavender went really well with her skin tone.

I thought Natalie Portman looked like a really cute sassy mom to be. She pulled off the pregnant look very well for the red carpet.

I have to say that I think Madonna could have gotten a little more "covered up" for the red carpet. She was walking around with her butt hanging out of her leotard barely covered by a layer of sheer lace. Come on, Madonna...

Nicole Richie was another disappointment. I think we should stick to the open back trend instead of the open-front. There's just too many openings on her dress!
